New Year, New Story

The story of 2012 has been written for each of us. Like any year, there were good and bad times. There were happy and sad occasions. There were deaths and there were births. The manner in which we handled these life events determined whether we thought the year was good or bad. Regardless, the story of 2012 is in the books.
With the start of the New Year comes a new story. Today you face the first blank page in the story of 2013. For some, the first pages will be filled with resolutions for a better year. For others, the first pages will be filled with crud they carry over from 2012. For all of us, it is one of the first big decisions we’ll make all year.
As we head into this New Year, I encourage you to make the decision to create a plan for a successful 2013. Those without a plan typically wander through a life of mediocrity. I recognize that life will get in the way of some of those plans, but it’s important we all have them. Author and speaker Jim Rohn once said, “If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.”
Today you start a new story for the year. I pray for God to bless you richly in 2013!
