All indications were this man was dead. His hospice nurse said he was dead. A family member said he was dead. And upon his arrival, the coroner declared him dead. This man was gone.
But not so fast … workers at this Mississippi morgue were shocked when the man started kicking his legs in the body bag just before they began the embalming process.
Over my career I’ve seen a few employees whose level of disengagement could have caused those around them to consider the employees DOA. And just before the embalming process starts (the termination process), the employee starts kicking to show they still have a little life left (hoping for that one last chance).
As you continue through the week, ask yourself if your disengagement could cause some around you to consider you DOA. Make a commitment right now to start kicking … before it’s too late!
