Training

With a focus on the skillset of leaders, we offer customized leadership training based on the leadership platform, Engaged Leadership. While often delivered as a stand-alone event, it also is part of Verbalocity’s leadership development program, Engage!

To supplement classroom time (or virtual training sessions), we offer webinars and regular videos to build on existing leadership development programs. We recognize that face-to-face meetings are not always practical for training and ongoing reinforcement due to increased remote and hybrid workforces, so we develop and deliver pre-recorded and/or live virtual training sessions in our studio.

Based on your desired outcome, we offer leadership training in the following three formats:

Leadership Matters!

Enhancing Skillset to Increase Employee Engagement

Leadership Matters is the content used for all three training formats. The focus is on developing the all-around leader, with a mix of content intended to improve both skillset and mindset. The content in this presentation comes in part from Engaged Leadership: Building a Culture to Overcome Employee Disengagement, written by leadership consultant and Verbalocity founder Clint Swindall.

The presentation can be used in multiple ways. For a conference or convention, the content can be customized for a three-hour workshop. It is often used as a pre-conference leadership session, or an extended breakout session. Within a company, it can be delivered as a full-day training with leaders, with two additional sessions for quarterly reinforcement.

The focus of the content is employee engagement. Why? Because research shows employees continue to be disengaged. While many employees indicate they are happier working from home, research shows they aren't more engaged. Which do you want? Happy employees who have embraced working at home in their pajamas or employees who are dedicated and passionate as the result of an intellectual and emotional connection to your organization and its mission.

Before the major shift in the workplace caused by the global pandemic, Gallup research showed that one-third of employees were engaged. Today, Gallup research shows that one-third of employees are engaged. Very little change. In fact, engagement has dropped every year since 2020. The vast majority of employees simply show up to work each day (either at an office or at home) prepared to do the minimum to get by. This problem of employee disengagement is a source of ongoing frustration for leaders of any organization. Not only does it irritate the management team, it demoralizes the productive employees who carry the majority of the workload.

The solution for overcoming employee disengagement is Engaged Leadership … a proactive approach to leadership that involves building consensus for the vision, inspiring employees to pursue the vision, and developing the team to realize the vision. While managing the business, there must be a focus on creating better leaders who understand the importance of a strong culture focusing on the employee.

In this training program, your team will learn what actions can be taken to develop skills in the following three areas:

  • How do Directional Leaders build a consensus for the vision?

  • How do Motivational Leaders inspire employees to pursue the vision?

  • How do Organizational Leaders develop the team to realize the vision?

In this program, Clint will discuss the importance of all three aspects of Engaged Leadership and will stress the importance of having what he calls a “character core.” Whether delivered in-person or virtually, the program provides a considerable amount of actionable information.
